The Tropical Conservation Fund is now offering a certification program for aspiring conservation biologists and wildlife managers. This series of courses provides introductory career development for those who are interested or currently working in the field of wildlife conservation biology with a focus on the tropics. Specifically, it is tailored to university-level students, professionals, advanced high-school students, or anyone dedicated to protecting our planet. A general biology course is suggested, though not required.
We realize that expensive university systems are not financially accessible - nor logistically feasible - for many people, particularly those on the front-lines of conservation. Likewise, many of these programs are in English and are inaccessible to people around the world. We have therefore designed a certification program that solves several of these issues:
We have found that often the people who would benefit the most - and those who would provide the greatest impact towards conservation - often don't have access to high-quality biological training. We're here to change that.
This program is designed as a series of online courses, a capstone project, examination, and internship (field or in conjunction with local conservation organization). The structure of the program can be tailored to your needs, but has an overall design that prepares you to understand the theory and apply your knowledge to real-world problems.
Course offerings include:

Likewise, many of these programs are in English and are inaccessible to people around the world. We have therefore designed a certification program that solves several of these issues:
- each course is reasonably priced ($19.99), with all profits returned to the TCF grant program;
- these courses are based off the same content and structure at several leading U.S. universities;
- the courses can be done at your own pace from around the world;
- allows donors to sponsor those important wildlife defenders living in developing countries;
- full-program certification available (requires completion of course series, examination; capstone; and internship).
- associated field-components (research-based) or internships available in partnership with local conservation organizations (cost varies);
- some resources transcribed to various languages.
