Palm Oil Impact: Hershey

Not good enough! As of March 2018, Hershey disclosed more than 1500 palm oil mills of which they state that they can only trace 14% to the plantation level - the source. In other words, they have no idea if 86% of their crops are coming from plantations associated with deforestation. If you're eating Hershey's products, you could very well be contributing to the extinction of the orangutan - they just don't know: Global brands divided over transparency efforts to tackle deforestation for palm oil. Plus, here's news from 2013 that they would have 100% traceability by 2014. Years later, and they still have no idea where most of their palm oil is coming from: Hershey commits to 100% traceable, sustainable palm oil by end of 2014
